This upcoming roundtable discussion will bring the issue of cervical cancer to the forefront of political leaders, allow the exchange of experiences, and highlight the leaders’ key roles in moving forward.
As such, the high level ministerial panel discussion will help keep up the current momentum to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health concern by 2030, with it being one of the more achievable Sustainable Development Goals.
The discussion will also feature innovative approaches and partnerships as well as new methods and tools to build capacity and advance cervical cancer control.
Prior to the sixty-ninth World Health Assembly, held in Geneva, from 23 to 28 May 2016, the roundtable enabled Commonwealth member countries’ delegates to participate in the discussion. An interactive exchange provided an overview of current interventions and research as it relates to cervical cancer in Africa.
The report of our roundtable 2016 includes the presentations of the speakers, and the main points of discussion. It is a practical tool to provide guidance for those involved in related issues. Keeping with this mindset, it is also designed to match with the ongoing discussions on our social media networks to consistently include new ideas and valuable suggestions and comments.
